4 Things You Should Ask About Any Easy Weight Loss Program

>
Seldom does a day go by that I don't hear about another supposedly easy weight loss program. The promises they make can be very seductive - fast and easy weight loss without deprivation or exercise.

For most people who have a lot of weight to lose, it is neither easy nor fast. The diet industry is a multi-billion dollar industry. As the number of people who are overweight rises astronomically with each passing year, they never run out of prospects. Unfortunately, many people are so desperate to lose weight that they'll often buy these claims, no matter how ridiculous.

Let's face it. It probably took you many years to become overweight. You won't lose that weight overnight. There really is no such thing as an "easy weight loss program," unless you find it very easy to completely change your lifestyle and long ingrained habits overnight. Most of us don't.

The most effective diet plan ever discovered is often the one used as a last result. Quite simply, it consists of eating a healthy, balanced diet and getting moderate exercise every day. Most Americans seldom do either of these on a regular basis, which helps explain why so many of us have problems with our weight. Here are 4 different "come ons" that you should watch out for.

1. Avoid programs that tell you that you will be losing weight fast. Generally the faster you lose weight the more likely you are to gain it back after you stop the diet. With many of these diets you will find that you are losing water rather than fat. Once you've lost excess water, you stop losing fat and weight.

2. Avoid programs which insist that certain foods are dangerous to your health. Quite often these diets force you to avoid whole food groups which can keep you from getting all the nutrition your body needs. The key to losing weight easily is by maintaining a healthy diet that includes variety from all the different food groups. That will provide your body with the essential nutrients, vitamins and minerals it needs to work properly.

3. Avoid easy weight loss programs that suggest you should only eat fat burning foods and supplements. Unfortunately there is not one single food or diet pill that you can use which is able to burn fat. The only real way you can burn off the excess fat that your body has stored is through physical activity.

4. Avoid easy fat loss programs that are sold with a celebrity endorsement. With these types of programs what you must remember is that celebrities do not have the right health care credentials and so are not really qualified to provide you with fitness and diet advice. Many have never even used the diet in question.

In the final analysis, most of the easy weight loss programs you hear about won't help you effectively take off the weight. An effective plan is one that becomes a lifelong habit of healthy eating and moderate exercise. You don't need to further enrich the billion dollar diet industry to find success!
