The Cabbage Soup Diet - Does This Diet Really Work?

The Cabbage Soup Diet is a temporary weight loss plan that claims that you can eat all the cabbage soup you want and lose weight. The diet is not met for permanent weight loss but rather rapid weight loss in seven days. After the seven days you are to resume your regular diet, according to the diet plan. Although the diet has been a success to many, you have to question whether or not this is a healthy diet. Your body needs more nutrient dense foods in the diet along with vitamins.

Many people have been successful using the diet for seven days with marvelous results. This is a good diet for people who have an event and need a few extra pounds shed. Such events can include weddings, trips, and reunions. This diet can also be good for those who do not have the extra funds to contribute to buying the extra weight loss snacks and products.

It is not recommended that cabbage soup be the only food consumed within that seven day period. This can cause malnourishment. It is important that large volumes of water be ingested throughout those seven days. It is also strongly recommended that your doctor be consulted before implementing any type of diet plan. Here is the seven day plan for the Cabbage Soup Diet:

Day 1: Cabbage soup, plus fruit (no bananas).

Day 2: Cabbage soup, plus vegetables.

Day 3: Cabbage soup, plus fruits and vegetables.

Day 4: Cabbage soup, plus bananas and milk.

Day 5: Cabbage soup, plus tomatoes and meat or fish.

Day 6: Cabbage soup, plus meat and vegetables.

Day 7: Cabbage soup, plus rice, fruit juice, and vegetables.

It should be known that the best way to lose weight is by eating healthy foods contained in the health food pyramid and exercising. The American Heart Association strongly recommends that any weight loss be done in a safe and healthy matter.
